"This image brings me back to my childhood on a farm and
among farm folks, back when photographs were only black and white. I love
the details in this hard-working barnyard: the metal roof, the water trough,
the wire fence, the bent gutter and the peeling paint. I also like the contrast
between the cockiness of the rooster and the humble message on the barn. Or
maybe it’s that both the rooster and the farmer are confident in their own place
in the world -
simple and profound."
simple and profound."
