We recently had one of the best aurora borealis we've had in several years. Judy and I took our small camper, along with two of our grandchildren, to Palisade Head at Tettegouche State Park to watch the aurora over Lake Superior. I used the Nikon D4, 14-24mm lens and painted the cliff with light during the long exposure for extra definition.
I believe "breathtaking" is the word I'm looking for. Palisade Head is such a gorgeous vantage point, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat are those lights on the far distant points of land? They couldn't possibly be Grand Marais?! Perhaps the power station in Schroeder?
ReplyDeleteHi Andy, They lights on the distant point of land are definitely from either Schroeder, Lutsen or Grand Marais. There are many small communities up the north shore from Palisade. Thanks for your interest!
DeleteBeautiful! Great job lighting up the cliff as well!
