Flying Squirrels
Jim photographed these little creatures last night on the deck of his home, Ravenwood. "I was surprised how tame they were. This is the first time I tried to interact with them. Note their large eyes, they are completely nocturnal."
The Northern flying squirrel (Glaucomys sabrinus) is one of two species of the genus Glaucomys, the only flying squirrels found in North America. The Northern flying squirrel is found in coniferous and mixed forests across the top of North America. For more information about this terrific little creature, check out www.flyingsquirrels.com.

ReplyDeleteWow! Look at those eyes. What marvelous creatures. God, Yaweh, Tao has entrusted you with capturing the essence of creation. My grandsons, Antonio and Dominick would have loved to have been out there with you on the deck! -Carl
