A Monarch Story Update

A Minnesota monarch butterfly missed its hatching time and was caught in an early snow.   Jim brought the chrysalis inside, rescuing it from the freezing temperatures.  He fed and exercised it indoors for a month.  After a call for help on Facebook, photographer Jay Jay Peterson came to our rescue.  The monarch was carefully secured in a CD case (per Texas Monarch Watch) and was sent via FedEx to Jay Jay in Killeen, Texas.  Unfortunately, that same day brought tragedy to the Killeen/Ft. Hood area.  With our butterfly on its way, we hoped she would bring peace to Killeen/Ft. Hood.  Click on the monarch to view our story.

Lovely Autumn Day at Ravenwood

A lovely autumn day at Ravenwood, Jim's home and studio on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota, shows a 360˙ view of Uncle Judd's Creek and the sauna. Can you see how the two sides would meet?

The waterfall is now starting to freeze up for the long winter ahead.  Today, the landscape turns to white with several inches of new snow
