TODAY ONLY, Tuesday, November 17, Minnesotans will come together for the first Give to the Max Day to raise as much money as possible for nonprofits in 24 hours. Every donation made from now until 8 am CST Nov. 18 is eligible for a portion of a $500,000 match thanks to The Bush Foundation, The Minneapolis Foundation and The Saint Paul Foundation. 100% of any donation that you make to the Brandenburg Prairie Foundation will come directly to us, and will help us continue to preserve prairies in Southwest Minnesota.

On the first day of autumn, one of my favorite creatures here at my Northwoods home, Ravenwood, came to entertain me as I worked in my study.  The mountain ashberries were soon shared by many other species of birds as they migrated past my window.
